The Role at a Glance
The Manager, Inventory Control leads and manages the physical inventory management and control processes within the assigned distribution center (Bartlett, TN). This role is accountable for the inventory of Brother finished goods and for managing procedures such as the cycle count program, proper storage, outside storage locations, product transfers and inventory adjustment activities which reconcile National Operations data with SAP data as well as special projects that impact inventory.
This position will work in two warehouse management systems (WMS) for business units such as Brother Machine Group, Home Appliance Division, Industrial Products Division, and Gear Motors.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Lead and manage the daily cycle count program
- Manage inventory processes and supervise personnel at the designated Brother warehouse facilities.
- Establish/modify daily cycle count program and coordinate activities of personnel (Brother and 3PL) assigned to conduct counts
- Ensure program is in compliance with Finance Department procedures and the independent audit firm’s guidelines
- Manage root cause analysis to reconcile discrepancies (internal or customer reported shortages/overages), initiate adjustments, and obtain sign-offs for large variances
Optimize inventory control procedures
- Streamline processes that impact inventory control and reduce errors
- Coordinate activities with Receiving Department and several different business groups (Procurement, Sales, Order Management, etc.) across multiple divisions
- Oversee internal transfers of product and optimize processes to best meet business partner demands.
- Manage optimal storage of product to meet operational needs, maintain material master data, identify scrap or transfer opportunities to balance inventory among business divisions and distribution facilities
- Manage inventory at outside warehouses and execute inventory transfers to maintain a high fill rate to our customers.
- Help warehouse operations to identify opportunities for reslotting and putaway.
Lead and manage the physical inventory process to comply with all JSOX and corporate requirements in the assigned Brother facility (TN)
- Physical inventories that occur in February and March in the TN distribution center.
- Manage a plan in weeks/months leading up to the count and ensure seamless execution
Key Experience & Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree Logistics, Accounting, Finance or Supply Chain Required
- Prior experience leading and managing an inventory control function and/or department
- Software/Technical Skills
- JDA Warehouse Management System (WMS) Intermediate Preferred
- SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) - Inventory Module and Order Management Module Intermediate Preferred
- SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) Intermediate Preferred
Other Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Analytical, detail-oriented and mathematically adept with the ability to communicate detailed information in a clear and concise manner Required

- The salary (or hiring) range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000 per year
- Starting salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data
- This position is eligible to participate in the relevant Brother variable pay incentive plan(s). Applicable bonus awards are discretionary and contingent upon 1) achievement of your individual objectives and 2) Brother achieving its corporate and business-level objectives

About Where We Work
Brother’s corporate headquarters for the Americas is in Bridgewater, NJ, across from the Bridgewater Commons Mall. This location houses key corporate functions, including HR, legal, finance, IT, and supply chain, and a significant presence of our business unit leadership and marketing teams. Our manufacturing and distribution facility in Bartlett, TN spans an impressive 1.5 million square feet - equivalent to 26 football fields - and is located on Brother Boulevard. In addition to the distribution center operations team, this facility hosts several other departments, including our customer service group. Brother also has employees based in other locations, such as Westminster, CO, where many of our marketing and product engineering team members from the mobile solutions division operate, as well as our distribution centers in Richmond, VA and Perris, CA. Additionally, our outside sales teams work remotely within their territories, staying geographically close to the accounts they support to ensure they are always “at your side” for our customers.
